17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development

The 17 global goals are the most ambitious plan for world development - ever. They are an expression of our greatest challenges and they are universal, inseparable and internally dependent. Ensuring that they are reached must therefore be found in partnerships, co-creation and joint efforts.

The 2030 agenda is first and foremost a change agenda to drive a radical transformation of our world.

Climate is a huge part of the debate, and it is very important. However, following my 3 years in Asia I am particularly concerned with how we can, in the short term, solve the huge resource problem that has come about from welcoming over 3 billion new middle-class citizens to this part of the world. The fact is that if we do not create the necessary changes to how we organize our lives, we will require a planet 2.5 times the size in the coming years to meet our demands. The problem requires courage - the daring to think big, ambitiously and creatively. Most importantly, it requires the ability to execute solutions that often seem radical.

Companies, both new existing, will play a key role in this transformation. With the help of exponential digital openings, those who understand, see and act on opportunities could contribute to our common 2030 goal and help achieve great success in building a sustainable future. This will probably call for business models that differ from those we know today, and are comfortable with. From my last 10 years working with top management and corporate innovation, I know this can be really tough!

My mission is to help entrepreneurs and corporate leaders move themselves and their businesses as quickly as possible towards delivering on the sustainable goals. If we can work together to do this, we can transform a historical problem into a historical business opportunity. Above all, we can create a world in better balance, which is prepared for the next 300 years life-cycle.

My work with the goals

As an entrepreneur, co-founder, innovator, leader and advisor across many industries and in the execution of hundreds of innovation and business projects as well as start-ups, I have experienced how difficult change (often under high pressure) can be. I have experienced the extreme courage, thrust and determination that it requires to successfully create the new. I have also experienced the fine line between success and failure, and I know how we can bridge this gap.

Together with my experiences in fintech innovation and partnership-driven business models, I will focus on solving one of the biggest problems in the foundation for successfully achieving the 2030 goals:

We need to co-create new financial instruments and funding models that can ensure a much larger scale of capital, especially business innovation competencies for leaders and innovators with a sustainability agenda. Furthermore, we need to change our focus from short-term investment with high returns to a focus on long-term value creation.

I have dedicated the next 3 years of my life to work with brilliant people to explore and create the new solutions and platforms needed to solve this. Returning to Denmark, I will primarily be focusing my efforts through Valified.com (funding and match-making platform for professional investors, pension funds and family offices) and Metoa.dk (democratisation of sustainable investment for all citizens), as well as different advisory roles.

On top of this, I wish to help entrepreneurs and leaders accelerate their sustainability agenda. As wing man, board member or catalyst, I can help to accelerate your growth and impact and lend a hand building bridges to the right people, especially in Asia and the Nordics. Just reach out.

Naturally, I will also continue to be an advisor in KRING Innovation, a Venture Building company executing new start-ups with an SDG agenda (7 Energy and 3 Health & Wellbeing).
